Blossom Pattern 10: Assembly 3

For the outer sole, we are going to get our pattern piece back from step 2, the sole! Remember how we added a 1/2 inch seam allowance to the outside of the pattern? We are now going to cut that off!

We can now trace this onto the leather, making sure to do one for each side! It is easier to cut out if you can use a razor blade like the one shown at right.

Now you will use the same technique from the last step to apply glue. Two layers both to the fabric sole and to the leather sole. Make sure it is sticky before you try to stick the two together. Line up carefully, and apply pressure to the entire area of the sole to make sure it is firmly attached.

Optional!! You can add a heel if you want. Simply take the sole pattern, and cut it off  3 inches from the back of the heel, cut out of leather, apply glue, and attach!

So there you have it! A beautifully hand-crafted pair of shoes! Thank you for following this tutorial, I had a lot of fun making it! PLEASE ask any questions you have along the way, and I will be more than happy to help you out!

Happy Cobblering!
